A short story based on long-term experience
Star Cool started in 1998 as a project in the R & D
department of Maersk Container Industry AS. Right from the
beginning the project benefited from the vast experience and
know-how of the existing organisation.
In 2002 Maersk Container Industry AS sent 30 Star Cool reefer
machines out on a closed loop trial in Asia (Japan) and the North
Atlantic. The test trial was conducted in collaboration with Maersk
Line. The trial proved to be an invaluable source of new ideas
thereby greatly improving the product before serie production.
The trial also marked a new beginning within the organisation
taking Star Cool from project to company. The service department
began developing a network for distributing spare parts and setting
up training sessions around the world. This truly marked the birth
of the Star Cool organisation as a new player on the market.
When Star Cool began series production in China in 2005 the
organisation was fully staffed to meet the challenges of
maintaining a service second to none.
In 2008 Star Cool opened up our own reefer machine factory, located
in Qingdao/China.
Just as the Star Cool products, the organisation is also being
constantly developed. The organisation is more than ever
international thereby supporting the entire Intermodal
industry.
